Groups

Each year more than 1000 groups visit Wendella on any of our 16 regularly scheduled tours. We play host to more than 400 school groups on field trips, introducing another generation to Chicago's magnificent architecture and history. Wendella also hosts hundreds of outings for senior citizens, civic organizations, cultural and ethnic groups, religious groups, family reunions and corporate outings.

Group reservations are welcome on any tour, any day of the week. Special, discounted rates are offered on most tours for groups of 20 or more people.

Group Procedures

Wendella is proud to be Chicago's only boat company with an in-house Education Department! Group Reservations are accepted for Groups of 20 or more people.

Please call ahead if anyone in your group has a disability that may require special services.

1. Upon receipt of a confirmation, review all information and contact us immediately with any changes or corrections.

2. Send a deposit of 25% by the deposit due date to hold the reservation. Any reservation without a deposit by the specified date will be cancelled.

3. Passenger count listed on the front of the reservation should include all members of your group including adults AND children. Wendella cannot guarantee seating for groups that exceed the size of their reservations.

4. If your group size falls below 20 people, each person will be charged the individual rate.

5. Payment may be made with Visa, MasterCard, cash or check.

6. Wendella cannot guarantee seating if your group arrives less then 30 minutes before departure.

7. Wendella reserves the right to offer late arriving groups seating on the next available ride. Please note, the next available ride is not necessarily the next scheduled ride!

8. If possible, Wendella will offer late arriving groups the option of a lake only ride. This 1 hour ride will be charged at the 1½ hour rate.

9. Wendella reserves the right to change the route and schedule without notice. Changes may be caused by, but are not limited to, unsafe weather conditions, high river levels, or unscheduled closures of the Chicago River or Chicago River Lock.

Wendella Tours operate in all weather. Tours are cancelled only when the Captain determines the weather has created an unsafe situation. Please Note: Rain does not generally constitute an unsafe situation.

Refunds of deposits because of adverse weather are made at the discretion of Wendella, and will be considered if a group calls BEFORE the ride. Please Note: Do not assume a ride is cancelled. If a group simply is a " No show" no refund will be made.

While all the boats have some covering, not all passengers may find a seat under cover. It is safe to assume some members of your group will get wet if it is raining during the ride.
